A Marriage of Convenience
// January 15th, 2010 // Gab
Once upon a time, or more like three years ago, I started a food blog to journal my adventures in cooking and dining experiences. I had high hopes it would lead to a career in food. I didn’t care if that career involved cooking, testing recipes or writing restaurant reviews just as long as I was involved with food. Heck, I even thought at one time about becoming a school cafeteria worker so I could help reshape the diets of American children. Michael was quick to point out though that no one really likes the lunch lady so with one career path nixed, I soldiered on with the blog. I enjoyed writing about my sometimes lofty recipes and the great dinners we’ve had around New York. I got a fancy shamncy camera to capture my culinary creations and even attended a food blogging class for pointers on my writing. Sadly though there are probably a million food blogs in existence and only a lucky few get noticed and an even smaller number are able to turn their blogs into something bigger. Despite my best effort, my food blog never took off and once I became pregnant my posts were sporadic at best. Since the girls arrived, the blog has been completely neglected.
To my surprise our family blog became the real breakout star. Thanks to the new grandparents for bragging about the girls and showing the site to friends, we’ve developed quite a following. The Gorsuch Gang has been viewed around the world and continues to have loyal readers. It occurred to me that I should hitch my food blog to the the family blog wagon and ride it to victory. (Well, you know what I mean.) With only one blog to maintain, I’m hoping I’ll be motivated to work on some food posts. The girls are starting to find a better rhythm at night which means I may be able to test my cooking chops again. Oh, it’s been a long time since I’ve had any food ideas.
This is now the new site for everything Gorsuch, as in the Brooklyn Gorsuchs. Gab is where you’ll find everything related to us and any musings I may have about random ideas, news stories or the like. I’ve never had an outlet for miscellaneous stuff so this will be nice. Grub is the place to go for recipes (original and copied), reviews and general food goodness.
I hope you enjoy the new site and some of the new features. My “rags to riches” dreams of blogging may have vanished, but my passion for writing about my favorite girls, husband, food and the general craziness that is life is as strong as ever!

Well I like the new blog, it is very nice.
