Four Months

Time is flying by!  The girls are four months now and everyday brings something new.

This past weekend we were blessed with a squeal from Ella as she “talked” with Daddy and Ava giggled with Mommy for awhile.  Lately Ava has been loosening up and not being so serious.  She’s smiling much more and she likes to “argue” with the TV.  Ella smiles at everything!  When she is being difficult, it is very hard to be frustrated with her when she flashes those dimples at you.  Both girls are starting to pay attention to toys and they seem to enjoy rattles and baby dolls.

Lately Ella has become attached to me.  I won’t lie, it makes me very happy, but I do feel bad that Michael doesn’t get the same attention.  I’m sure he will eventually.  It gets a little tricky though when she gets wound up and me holding her is the only thing that will calm her down.  Ava seems to like both of us equally so that’s good!  Although Ava can cut her eyes at me and make a very dirty face when I attempt to sing along to one of her favorite songs.  I’ve learned my lesson – do not interrupt JT or Lady Gaga on Ava’s watch!

Ella went to her first physical therapy session this week and she did great.  Mommy and Daddy have lots of work to do with her, but it’s not a difficult task when you get to help your baby girl.  Ava still protests tummy time, but I’m working on her. The next big thing on our list to assemble the high chairs and see how the girls do with them.  Ours are able to recline so I think they’ll work.  Our pediatrician said we’d discuss starting solid foods at our next visit so we need to get prepared.  I can’t believe they will be old enough soon for solid foods!
